Darren Spurr …
…first cut his culinary teeth whilst watching his grandmother prepare traditional Yorkshire dishes in her kitchen in Sheffield.
….and he´s rarely been out of a kitchen ever since.
Since leaving catering college in 1986 Darren´s CV has encompassed stints in some of the best restaurants in London and the South East of England – including Sugar Reef in Piccadilly. And more recently a little further south again in Lanzarote, where he opened his first restaurant – Guatifay in La Santa – in 2001 with wife and partner Debbie, who ably manages operations front of house.
In October 2002 the couple took over their current site in Macher. Where they have since built an enviable reputation for the quality of their operation – thanks to the twin ingredients of imaginative cooking and excellent service.
